How did you hear about HanaHaus Newport Beach?

“A good friend of mine lives on Lido Isle and recommended I check out the space as an alternative to our office. Since the space is right down the hill from my house, it is so convenient and makes riding a bike possible!“

A thoughtfully designed space like this where aesthetics, noise and light have been taken into account help work get done efficiently. When you walk into the space, there is a calming effect that supports getting focused to accomplish great things.

What does your typical day look like?

“I am an early riser and start my day between 6:00 - 7:00am. Early morning is my “think time” where I get writing and planning done since my brain is sharpest then.

At 9:00am we have a company stand-up, a short meeting that addresses three key questions:
1. What did you do yesterday?
2. What are you doing today?
3. Where are you stuck / need help?

This meeting aligns the team and helps me re-prioritize if needed.

Often I will have a meeting at HanaHaus with a client, partner or colleague and end up staying on to work for a few hours. It’s a great break in the day to collaborate in person, locally in the community, and get work done at the same time.

By late day I’m ready for some movement so if I’m not with clients or traveling I block this time for exercise. My favorite thing to do is roll out from the office on my road bike. Riding is my church and my therapy rolled into one; often I come back to the office refreshed with a ton of clarity and new ideas.“

HanaHaus is unique because…

“There is no stress! A thoughtfully designed space like this where aesthetics, noise and light have been taken into account help work get done efficiently. When you walk into the space, there is a calming effect that supports getting focused to accomplish great things.“

My favorite place at HanaHaus is…

“The seating by the outdoor patio overlooking Newport Bay. I love the conversational style of the seating arrangement coupled with the functional table and proximity to the outdoors.“

HanaHaus in 3 words…

“Community. Connection. Collaboration.“

In our blog series, People of HanaHaus, we present the folks that fill our workspace cafe with life: Start-Uppers, entrepreneurs, artists, founders, innovation managers, students, unicorns, venture capital investors and the people who make HanaHaus unique. We want to learn about their journeys and what brought them to Orange County. We ask them to speak about their current projects and how they leverage HanaHaus for their business.
