THANK YOU PALO ALTO

Since its inception in 2015, HanaHaus Palo Alto has been more than just a coworking space & cafe—it has been a vibrant hub of creativity, collaboration, and innovation. Housed in the historic Varsity Theatre on University Avenue, SAP transformed this landmark building into a modern workspace that embodied the spirit of innovation that defines Silicon Valley today. It has been a staple of the local community for years and it played a crucial role in shaping the budding startup ecosystem in Palo Alto.

And because of this, it is with mixed emotions that we announce that HanaHaus Palo Alto will be closing its doors on October 1, 2024. While this location has been successful with a significant presence in the community, this decision reflects SAP's evolving ecosystem strategy and its commitment to prioritizing key growth areas in our core business.

SAP is proud to be a part of the vibrant Bay Area community. We remain committed to investing in our three local SAP offices, our dedicated employees, and the flourishing ecosystem of startups, universities, and venture capital firms. Our commitment extends through numerous partnerships and initiatives across the region. HanaHaus Palo Alto has established a solid foundation for the local community to grow, and as we enter a new chapter, the spirit of HanaHaus will live on at our Newport Beach location, carrying forward the connections and memories we've built.

As we prepare to conclude operations at the Palo Alto HanaHaus location, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the journey and the lasting impact HanaHaus has left upon the local community and the broader Silicon Valley ecosystem over the past decade.

When it first launched, HanaHaus quickly became a cornerstone of the early-stage startup scene by facilitating access to Silicon Valley's dynamic ecosystem and providing affordable, flexible workspace in the heart of Palo Alto. This accessibility enabled countless startups and individual innovators to collaborate, fostering a melting pot of ideas and connections. The design of the space appealed to all demographics ranging from venture capitalists, founders, and startups to university students, business travelers, and freelancers alike.

Over the years, HanaHaus Palo Alto experienced significant growth in popularity. Its unique blend of café culture, coworking amenities, and proximity to the tech ecosystem attracted a diverse array of individuals and companies.

At its core, HanaHaus has always been about uniting and inspiring the community. The original purpose was to create a space where people can connect, explore new ideas, and bring them to life. As we bid farewell to HanaHaus Palo Alto, we celebrate the success stories that have emerged from this space. From startups that grew from a single desk to established companies, to innovative ideas conceived on HanaHaus whiteboards, the impact of HanaHaus will continue to resonate throughout the tech industry for years to come.

As Palo Alto and Silicon Valley continue to evolve, HanaHaus’ legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of the community. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey. We are proud of what we built together, and we will treasure all the memories from the past decade together.
