The HanaHaus Speaker Series event in October is focused on Venture Capital. Three women leaders of the VC community - Ann Winblad, Heidi Roizen and Karen White - will share their perspectives on Silicon Valley in a fireside chat. They will speak about the startup culture, early stage investments, scaling companies, hiring the right teams, and what life and work in the Silicon Valley means for them. After the panel, you will have the opportunity to ask direct questions.

Speakers

Ann Winblad is a Managing Director of Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, a venture capital firm she co-founded in 1989. She is a well-known and respected software industry entrepreneur and technology leader. Her background and over 30 years of experience in the software industry have been chronicled in many national and international businesspublications. 
Hummer Winblad Venture Partners was the first venture firm focused exclusively on software. In her 26-year career as a venture capitalist, Ann’s firm has launched over 160 enterprise software companies and led investments that pioneered successful companies across the enterprise software sector: Business Intelligence, Analytics, Software Development, Integration, Data Center Optimization, Cloud Computing and Security.  


Heidi Roizen is a venture capitalist, corporate director, Stanford lecturer and recovering entrepreneur.   She co-founded software company T/Maker and served as its CEO for over a dozen years until its acquisition by Deluxe Corporation.  After a year as VP of Worldwide Developer Relations at Apple, she became a venture capitalist, and is now the Operating Partner at leading venture firm DFJ.   She is also currently a corporate director for DMGT (LSE:DMGT), Icix, Intematix, ShareThis and Zoox.  She is also the co-lead of Stanford’s DFJ Entrepreneurial Leaders Fellowship Program.  She has undergraduate and MBA degrees from Stanford, and is the proud mother of two kids and two rescue dogs.

 

Karen White is an accomplished leader in the technology industry. Her roles have ranged from CEO, president and COO, to venture capitalist and senior vice president at a Fortune 100 company. She has served on numerous private and public company boards of directors. Most recently, Karen was President, COO and on the Board of Directors at Addepar, where she remains an advisor. Addepar is a tech company founded by Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale, aimed at the market managing $120 trillion of assets globally. As president and COO, Karen led sales, marketing, business development, finance, operations and HR, driving 8x growth, a $50 million financing, and recruiting a top executive team to scale the company. Karen also served in several additional executive leadership roles in technology companies
