Summary Starting in 2009, 8% of Oklahoma’s land area had about half of the earthquakes east of the Rocky Mountains. Rall Walsh will talk about these earthquakes and their relationship to injection operations, differentiating between water disposal and hydraulic fracturing. He will show an assessment of the known faults in Oklahoma and how we can tell which ones have more potential to be pushed to slip in an earthquake. Lastly Walsh will talk about how we've developed technology to help the energy industry identify and avoid these faults.

Rall Walsh has a Ph.D. from the Stanford Center for Induced and Triggered Seismicity. He researches induced earthquakes in the central US, and how to manage them.
